A Lesson From the Heart

As I look within, I asked for forgiveness.

I hurt you multiple times after you told me enough was enough. I kept going back, thinking this was love. Maybe I’m doing it wrong; perhaps something is wrong with me. I can never get it right. Why are you silent? Please talk to me. I can’t feel you, but I know you’re listening.

Are you mad? Please say something.

“How can I speak when all you do is talk?”

A small fluttered appear around my heart. Are you ready to listen so I can speak she asked? Silent fills the air; stillness appeared.

“You look for love when love starts within. Why are you looking for love? When loving yourself is a blessing.”

“Yes, I am always with you. However, you stop listening to me, so I became silent. There was no reason for me to speak.” Warmth filled the area where my heartbeat.“I am not mad. I am waiting for you to give yourself love, the same love you give others. When the day comes, my silence will be no more.”

A soft smile appeared on my lips.“Thank you for being here.”A quick vibration filled me. I believe my heart chuckled.“I’m always here for you. Literally.”

I drift back into reality, learning a lesson I thought was done.
